The 33-year-old, who now resides in Canada, had a successful 2022, during which the towering puncher increased the caliber of his opponents with victories over Mariusz Wach and, most recently, Carlos Takam.
Makhmudov, who is now 15-0(14), is seeking to "destroy" Michael Wallisch, whom he will face on Friday in Shawinigan, Canada. The aim, according to Makhmudov and his promoter Camille Estephan, is to go after the big names next year. Makhmudov fought Takam for the first time in ten rounds, and the puncher feels the experience improved his game, but he wants another stoppage win with Wallisch.
