The Spaniards suffered another one-point defeat last week - and they'll never get tired of it. Valencia and Zalgiris are probably the record holders for losing in the final seconds of a hard-fought game this season.
But something seems to be changing with the Bats' efficiency - they are scoring about 78 and a half points per game on average (they used to average 74), while they are allowing almost 77 (they used to average 74). Even though both numbers are up significantly after last week's two high-scoring games, Valencia still hasn't become the league's highest-scoring team. But they seem to be aiming for it.
After Valencia's 93:88 win over Efes and 81:82 win over Panathinaikos, we have lost the desire to bet on a total under, personally and against their opponents. The three January matches at La Fonteta ended with totals of at least 163.
Zalgiris
The Lithuanians have only lost away games in December, but they have lost more often than the other way around - the previous two games against Fener and ASVEL have been productive. In Istanbul, the score was 80:78, which breaks the suggested total; in Villeurbanne, it was 93:79.
Interestingly enough, Zalgiris has always played well in Valencia - the Spaniards last beat the guests from Kaunas on their home court in 2011.

We recently tried to bet on a total under in a matchup of the two most unproductive teams, one of which was Valencia, and the result was 169 points.
