The Jazz took three players in the last draft. All of them, of course, are declared for the Summer League. The top pick, 9th pick forward Taylor Hendricks of Central Florida, scored 15.1 points, nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc, 1.7 blocked shots, and 0.9 steals in 34 games last NCAA season. In addition, 28th overall pick Bryce Sensabaugh, a light forward from Ohio State, is also very productive (16.3 points per game); and Keyonte George, a shooting guard from Baylor, was picked 16th overall and scored 15.3 points per game. On paper, a great set of scorers.
Utah didn't have a lot of experienced players at the tournament. The standout is guard Ochai Agbaj, who, at one point last season, even became a staple on the main team. In addition to him, the bigmen Vernon Carey, Luka Samaniс, and Mika Porter have barely played in the NBA though they are all under contract for 2-3 seasons.
Evan Bradds, a player development specialist on Will Hardy's staff, has been assigned to coach the Jazzmen. Before Utah, Bradds spent four years in Boston with Udoka and Stevens.
Oklahoma
The Thunder's core team could have been declared to the Summer League because it is made up almost entirely of young talent. Many we will indeed see in Salt Lake City. Jaylen Williams and his namesake Jaylin, Tre Mann, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl are on the roster. With little playing practice, Ousmane Dieng and Jared Butler. Of course, Chet Holmgren, the second pick of the 2022 draft, missed all of last season due to injury.
Among the three players the Thunder took in the 2023 draft, the standout is 13th-pick center seven-footer Dereck Lively II of Duke with a 2.4 blocking average per game. Light forward Keyontae Johnson, who played in the NCAA for five years, was taken 50th with 17.4 points per game last season for Kansas State. Heavy forward, Hunter Tyson is the 37th pick from Clemson, who also stayed late in the NCAA.
David Akinyoye, Marc Dano's assistant since his days at Oklahoma's farm club, has been named coach.

Oklahoma's lineup is much the same as last year's combination. Back then, the Thunder destroyed the Jazz by a margin of 21 points. Why shouldn't Oklahoma repeat that success? After all, the team is even more experienced. Jaylen and Jaylin Williams, for example, always were players on the main roster that even made the playoffs. We're betting on Oklahoma and don't expect a repeat of last year's high-scoring game. Josh Giddey played for the Thunder then, but we don't have a point guard of that level. Besides, Williams, like the rest of them, added a lot on defense last year and is capable of playing his best against a team made up almost entirely of young Utah players.
