While the road trip continues for Atlanta, Utah just completed it. The Jazzmen played three games against Eastern Conference teams, of which they won two. First, the team lost to New York (103:119) at Madison Square Garden, and then outscored Miami (136:100) and Orlando (105:92) in Florida.
A nice stretch, of course, kept Utah from getting out of the bottom of the West. With a 9-25 balance, the Jazz are penultimate in the conference and are unlikely to claim anything even if they start winning consistently now. The gap from the play-in zone, the top ten, is exactly eight wins.
Atlanta
But the Hawks are a real contender even for the top-6 of the Eastern Conference, a place in which Quin Snyder's team occupied not long ago. Atlanta has now fallen to a 50% win percentage of 18-18 and has slipped to eighth place in the East, but is still just one win away from a direct playoff berth.
Again, the Hawks have a disappointing road stretch right now. First Atlanta beat Toronto 136:107 in Canada, but then lost to Denver (120:139), Los Angeles Lakers (102:119) and Los Angeles Clippers (105:131).
Expert Betting Tips
Utah won two consecutive victories, but it is worth considering the problems of its opponents. First, the Jazz beat Miami, who was demoralized by Jimmy Butler's suspension, and then they coped with Orlando, who can't count on half of the roster because of injuries. We believe that Utah's mini-series of victories will be broken in the meeting with Atlanta, and the matchup will be efficient - the Jazz and Hawks rank 26th and 28th in defensive efficiency rating, respectively.
