Phoenix Suns vs Sacramento Kings Prediction, Betting Tips and Odds | 13 OCTOBER, 2022

The NBA Regular Season is just a week away and the battle lines are drawn at a high clip as usual. The Preseason is just a little preview and nowhere close to the real results we will see in a few days. The Preseason is just a way to practice and make the final roster cuts. In this game of the NBA Preseason leg, the Phoenix Suns will take on the Sacramento Kings.

The Suns had the best record in the league last season, which followed an NBA Finals run in the season before. It means that they are one of the most loaded squads in the league and will be aiming for another big run this season. There has been this weird Deandre Ayton situation as he seems to have some team chemistry issues after a contract negotiation failed and the Suns will indeed need him to perform at a high-clip as their only viable big who can score in back-to-basket situations and also a rebounder and defender.

The Guard duo of Paul and Booker is one of the best in the league and their chemistry is off-the-charts. Both can bring the ball up the floor and while Paul can dish tough assists, shoot at a high clip from mid-range, Booker is one of the best scorers in the league. Wing Mikal Bridges is an elite defender who is also a wonderful slasher. Cameron Johnson can also act as a floor spreader but the bench looks a bit lean

The Kings are going to be in another testy season. They had not made Playoffs since an era from which most of the players retired, which is 15+ years now. The Franchise is in disarray and fans are as frustrated as they can be. They are in the lottery every year, and they land big-time draft picks but things just don’t go as planned. In desperation, they traded their high-potential young player Tyrese Haliburton and sharpshooter Buddy Hield to land Domantas Sabonis.

While Sabonis may not be the answer to the perpetual defensive issues, he does bring much-needed scoring, rebounding, and playmaking. He can fit well alongside De’Aaron Fox and the newly emerging Davion Mitchell who can help address the defensive woes. Harrison Barnes will have to become a stretch-four player in the new set-up. The bench looks fantastic with Malik Monk, Terance Davis, and Kevin Huerter. Can rookie Keegan Murray be the spark that the team has been missing?

Meh, preseason game, you can’t really analyse much. Who knows if both coaches rest all of their key players. The Suns still lean towards fielding their main players and they have had a healthy roster for most parts. The Kings seems to have built a decent team but their chances in the West still remain a bit low. Anyway, for this game, I’d back the Kings to eke out a win to make it three in a row.
