The Clippers again failed to live up to expectations and are on fire by the fifth game of the first round of the play-offs against Phoenix (1:3). Will the Suns close out the series on their home court? It looks like it, as the Clippers will probably not be able to count on Kawhi Leonard again.

After losing one of the two home games in the series, the Suns managed to pick up both games in Los Angeles. The team took advantage of their opponent's absence of leader Kawhi Leonard and left the Clippers with no chance of success, 129:124 and 112:100. Phoenix's starting five pulled both games as expected. Devin Booker scored 48 points in game three, and Kevin Durant scored 28. And in game four, Durant had 31 + 11 rebounds, Booker scored 30 points, and Chris Paul had 19 + 11 assists. If the Suns' big trio keeps this up, Phoenix could close the series with the Clippers in game five and reach the championship final.

For the fifth straight season, the Clippers suffered from injuries to their leaders. In the championship game before last, Kawai Leonard dropped out in the playoffs, leaving the team unable to compete in the conference finals with Phoenix. Last season, Kawai and Paul George failed to help the team through the regular season, and they dropped out of the play-in. Now George has dropped out just before the start of the postseason, and Kawai after two games played. The Clippers are potentially the strongest team in the Western Conference in recent years but have never been able to put together the strongest squad and make it a success.
