Phoenix Suns vs Houston Rockets Prediction: The Suns expected to blow out the Rockets

The trials and tribulations during a grueling NBA season are hard to put into words. Each team plays 72 games amidst the endless struggle and you never know who can flip the table during what part of the season. We are still in the early parts of the season and it is clear that there are some teams that have already showcased the rhythm they are likely to sustain. One of those teams, the Phoenix Suns will take on the Houston Rockets.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns come into this game after defeating the Pelicans 124:111 as Mikal Bridges dipped in 27 points. In that game, after a slow start, getting only 21 points in the opening quarter, the Suns scored 30+ in the rest of the quarters and once again proved to be too much for their opponents. Devin Booker cooled off a bit and couldn’t click on any of his 4 attempts from three while Chris Paul shot 1/7. Deandre Ayton left the game early due to an injury but Mikal Bridges evaporated the defense through his wonderful zeal to finish inside while also knocking down outside shots.

This was a great win because the main scorer for the team couldn’t get going until later while the team was missing a key screen-setter, rim-runner, and offensive rebounder in Deandre Ayton. It exemplifies the team depth of the Suns and it is difficult to deal with them because all their rotation players are capable to play tough on both ends of the floor. The bench has shown promise too despite the team losing Jae Crowder and Cameron Johnson upgrading from a bench piece to a starter.

Houston Rockets

The Rockets come into this game after suffering a 111:125 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers despite an 18 points performance by Eric Gordon. The Rockets have done as expected, losing five of their six games. They have looked lost on the defensive end and have given up 117 or more in four of the six games which showcase their youth’s struggles and the lack of a defensive enforcer. The Rockets have built an improved offensive squad but their defense has a LONG way to go/

The team does have a bunch of young talented athletes. Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. are both capable of scoring 20+ as backcourt players. Rookie Jabari Smith Jr has shown huge promises whereas sophomore Alperen Sengun has also showcased tremendous potential. Veteran Eric Gordon continues to play big minutes and the Rockets are likely heading to another lottery season with the fanbase wishing they land Victor Wembanyama in the next draft.

There is no doubt that the team will need to unlock something different after losing Ayton to injury but they have the depth to overcome this hurdle. That is why I believe that they will overcome this adversity and win this game with a big margin. I see the Points Range in 230-240.
