The Ja Morent scandal has even pushed Memphis' results into the background while the Grizzlies have been winning non-stop. The squad has won 7 of their last eight games and is still second in the Western Conference. The main problem is center injuries. Stephen Adams should not recover until the playoffs, and Brandon Clark is out for the rest of the season. Even Kenneth Lofton has a place in the rotation now, though the big man has been out of the lineup for a long time after his summer league triumph.
Morent's comeback wasn't exactly triumphant, but Memphis still beat Houston 130:125. Jaren Jackson Jr. has taken over the first star role and didn't let up, scoring 37 points. Morent came off the bench and made 6-of-13 shots from the field.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets are the clear underdogs of the Eastern Conference, but they have also experienced some blowout moments this season. Most recently, Houston took turns beating Boston, the Los Angeles Lakers, and New Orleans at home, and the latter two had plenty of motivation to go around, as they did not even guarantee a playoff spot.
The team has lost every game in their last three games, though Jalen Green scored more than 30 points in two. Against Memphis, Green made 10 of 18 shots from the field, and Alperen Şengün and Kenyon Martin, Jr. were very effective. Green, Martin, Jr., and Şengün scored 88 points and were just slightly short of winning the game.
Expert Betting Tips
The Rockets surprised badly last game, and there's not much reason for the team to slow down dramatically. Memphis has problems on defense, and the Bears lost some of their biggest trump cards when Steven Adams was injured. The Grizzlies will improve offensively, as Ja Morent's playing time will surely pick up. The teams have met three times this season, and on two occasions, they have managed to score more than 250 points between them.
