The NBA trade deadline has reached its peak and with a few days remaining before the close of this deadline, a lot of scenarios can come into play. We have come deep into the season and this is an essential window for teams that are in search of missing players, both in the long-term and the short-term. Anyway, in this NBA Regular Season Game, the Los Angeles Clippers are going to take on the Dallas Mavericks.

The Clippers come into this game after defeating the Nets 124:116 as Paul George scooped up 29 points. This was the second straight win for the squad that has now won eight of the last ten games and has been performing much better compared to late December and early January. The reason for the uptick is as simple as it gets, both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are playing together.
When these two are together, the offensive balance is much better and the team has really struggled with their offensive depth whereas their defense is of course top-notch when these two studs are on the floor. The team may pull some plugs around the trade deadline because the Point Guard position has been lacking in production. Will the Clippers pull some trades?
Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks march into the affair after destroying the Jazz 124:111 as Josh Green drilled 29 points. This was a game where Dallas didn’t field Doncic and Irving white Dinwiddie was no more a part of the team due to the Irving trade. The Mavs have 29 wins and 26 losses so their work is cut out in the West where the picture is murky from the third rank onwards and anyone can end up out/in of the Play-in/Playoffs situation.
One major question is how will the coaching staff find ways for Irving and Doncic to coexist since both these players like to dominate the ball. This means one of them will need to play more off-the-ball as a two-Guard and that can be Irving considering Doncic’s superior passing. The team will also need defensive adjustments because despite acquiring Irving, they have lost some ground, losing Finney-Smith.
Injuries
- Clippers: OUT: John Wall, Moussa Diabate;
- Mavericks: OUT: Luke Doncic, Maxi Kleber, Davis Bertans. PROBABLE: Kyrie Irving, Markieff Morris.
Expert Betting Tips
This can be the game where Irving potentially makes his Mavericks debut. Although this bolsters Mavs’ spirits, Irving will find it tough against the defense of Leonard and George. The Mavs’ defense can take a hit without Dorian Finney-Smith but Josh Green’s last performance can add to the team’s depth. However, I think the Doncic-less Mavs team will find it tough and Clippers win here. I predict a scoreline of 122:110 in favor of the Clippers.
