The NBA Preseason will kiss us goodbye soon and we have to see what final cuts are made in just two-three days. The Regular Season is just a few days ago and we are bound to see the intensity pick up to another level. The Golden State Warriors will begin their defense title against a stacked field and you never know which teams weave a surprise run. Will it be the Detroit Pistons, which will take on the Memphis Grizzlies here?

Pistons are too young. They brought in Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren, two highly-rated rookies and Jalen has especially been impressive with the rebounding. Cade Cunningham is touted as the future star for the team and he did pin up some wonderful all-around games but yes, as a young un in this league, his stroke needs a lot of development. Saddiq Bey is a dependable shooter and to be honest, his pairing with Bojan Bogdanovic looks lethal in terms of shooting.
Killian Hayes who is a terrific defender and playmaker will have to shed the label of being an offensive liability and he seems to be on the way to doing so. Isaiah Stewart has been a physical player inside but overall, the Pistons seem to lack the set-up to qualify for the Playoffs. Still, in my opinion, the lottery days can take a toll on the confidence of players like Bey, Cade, Stewart, etc. and the Pistons should make a push towards at least the Play-in tournament this season.
Memphis Grizzlies
Grizzlies didn’t have to worry about making the Play-in tournament as they finished with the second-best record in the West last season. They have a stacked lineup. Ja Morant can go downhill and dunk hard while being an assassin with his dribbling. Desmond Bane is a superb knockdown shooter while Dillon Brooks is a premier “3 and D” wing. Jaren Jackson is likely to come back soon and the Grizzlies seem to have one of the most athletic teams.
Adams will play a big role as the inside player, especially on the rebounding and defensive end. Brandon Clarke is a rim-running Forward but there is a question about Tyus Jones, who may be hunting for a starting role after being a solid bench player and an injury cover for Morant, as a part of the Grizzlies run last season without their star Guard. Will the bench take a hit after the departures of Kyle Anderson and De’Anthony Melton?
Expert Betting Tips
The Pistons have been a terrible NBA team for last two seasons and usually an automatic win for the opposition. They will need to change that to bolste the confidence of their young players, especially Saddiq Bey, who will like to win more after a string of poor team seasons. For the Grizzlies, the question will be if they can be consistent enough in the loaded West. For this game, I’d back the Grizzlies to win.
