The NBA midseason is on and we have been in great shape as we head toward the trade deadline. We can see a bunch of players change their jerseys soon considering the loaded marketplace. This has been a fascinating record-breaking season and soon LeBron James will overtake Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the scoring column. One other record-breaker Luka Doncic will be in action as the Dallas Mavericks are going to take on the New Orleans Pelicans.
Dallas Mavericks
The Mavs enter the game after defeating the Pistons 111:105 as Luka Doncic compiled 53 points in another historic night for him. The Mavs have won two in the three games, but in an extended window, they have lost nine of their 14 games. Their offense has been virtually all about Doncic and the team is dearly missing Jalen Brunson, who gave them 20+ points average last season, a type of production that the team is missing. While Spencer Dinwiddie has been doing his bit, the team has missed the scoring depth. The defense has been a tad better in the last few games but it is nowhere it was like last season.
New Orleans Pelicans
The Pels come into this game after losing 113:122 despite a 21 points performance by Herbert Jones. This was once again a devastating loss for the Pels team that has lost nine in a row which has put them with 26 wins and 26 losses. The Pels’ defense has been down ever since Zion Williamson has been gone and the same goes for the offensive end. CJ McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas are great secondary options but they have failed to put together substantial by themselves as Brandon Ingram’s game has been a bit off due to injuries.
Expert Betting Tips
The Mavericks have been playing at a vulnerable rate but they will host a Pels squad that hasn’t won for more than two weeks. Luka Doncic has taken his game to yet another level which might sound unthinkable but he looks like the most unguardable player in the league right now. That is why I’d back the Mavs to win an predict a scoreline of 122:109 in their favor.
