Nate MacMillan's team finally picked up speed and started to play what they'd come to expect - quality basketball. Leading up to their matchup with the Hornets, Atlanta has now won five straight, beating tough opponents like Miami (121-131), Dallas (130-122), and New York (139-124). The Hawks are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference (24-22), but should they beat Charlotte, they would be tied for sixth and seventh with the Knicks and Heat. Atlanta's prospects of making the playoffs don't look as dim as they did just a few weeks ago.
Charlotte
The Hornets managed to end their losing streak of five games in the previous one. On the road, Steve Clifford's team handled the worst team in the Western Conference, Houston. 122-117 - Charlotte once again stumbled on defense but managed to make up with a quality offense. Seven players earned 10+ points. The most productive player, of course, was Terry Rozier - 26 points. Charlotte (12-34) is in penultimate place in the Western Conference standings, ahead of Detroit.
Expert Betting Tips
Atlanta faced Charlotte last season in the play-in round. Back then, Nate MacMillan's team defeated their opponent 132-103. There should be something similar now. The situation is undoubtedly less important for Atlanta than it was then. But the Hawks still need a win - they're chasing a playoff spot. On the other hand, the Hornets have been significantly weaker and are unlikely to pose any threat to one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference right now.
