EuroBasket is going well for the Israeli team so far. In spite of losing to Poland (76-85) in Week 3, Israel has an excellent chance of making the playoffs. The first two games of the tournament ended in a win for the Israelis. First, Guy Goodes's team beat a stout Finland 89-87 (79-79) in overtime. Then, the Israeli team outplayed the Netherlands, 74-67.
Serbia has yet to face worthy resistance
The first three games of the tournament were very easy for Nikola Jokic and his team. In the first round, the Serbs outplayed the Netherlands 100-76. In the second round, they were able to cope with the Czech Republic, 81-68. In the third game, they defeated the national team of Finland, 100-70. It appears that the first challenge for the Serbs will happen in the playoffs.
Head-to-head encounters
The Serbs defeated the Israelis in four of their last five matches.
Expert Betting Tips
The Serbs are very confidently leading the group after three rounds. The easy course of the tournament could turn into a cruel joke in their upcoming game against Israel. The Israelis have a good team, led by one of the most talented modern defenders Deni Avdija, and they can easily put Serbia through their first decent defensive battle in this tournament.
Prediction: the Serbs will surely win, but not nearly as convincingly as they did in their first matches. Though it is even possible to take a risk by betting on Israel with odds higher than 10.0. Bookmakers seem to underestimate the capabilities of the Israeli team.
