New York Yankees vs Chicago White Sox Prediction: the Hosts to Reveal Why They Lead the Conference

One of the most exciting series in the coming days in the MLB promises to be a showdown between New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox. Who will be stronger at the end of the first game? We'll pick a few bets.

The Yankees Top the Conference

In the previous game, Aaron Boone's team lost on the road to Baltimore, 6-9, missing the decisive points in the ninth inning. Before that, the Yankees had beaten the Orioles in the three games of the home series. Overall, New York has not had any glaring failures so far this season. Going into their showdown with the Chicago White Sox, the Yankees with a 28-10 balance are in first place not only in the AL East division, but also as the leader of the entire American League.

Nestor Cortes will pitch for the Yankees in the upcoming game. The 27-year-old pitcher is 2-1 in seven starts on the new season, including a 5-1 win over the White Sox on May 15, and a 1.35 ERA. In terms of conceding percentage, Cortez is currently the best in the MLB.

Chicago's Still Catching Up

Tony La Russa's squad is potentially one of the strongest in the American League. However, at the start of the 2022 championship, the White Sox, with a 19-19 balance, are still only 7th in the conference composite table, and in their division, the AL Central is tied for 1st place with Minnesota (22-16).

Ahead of their series with the Yankees, the White Sox battled five straight on the road against the Kansas City Royals and closed out the series with a 3-2 win. In the deciding game, the White Sox won 7-4.

Pitcher for Chicago in the first game of the series at Yankee Stadium will be Dallas Keuchel, 2-3 and with a 5.54 ERA in six starts on the new season.

Expert Betting Tips

Interestingly, in the only game, the White Sox won in their season-long showdown with the Yankees, Dallas Keuchel started on the pitching hill. The lesser chance the White Sox has of winning in the upcoming game, as paradoxical as that may sound. Keuchel, like the White Sox, is unstable at the start of the championship, has experienced a lot of problems in the series with not the strongest Kansas,  and will probably have just as much trouble against the American League leader, the Yankees. Nestor Cortes, the pitcher with the best batting average in the MLB at the moment, will be pitching for them. Prediction - the Yankees to win.
