Los Angeles Chargers vs Cleveland Browns.
SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles.
One of the most exciting encounters in Week 5 of the NFL regular season promises to be the meeting at SoFi Stadium, where the Los Angeles Chargers will take on the Cleveland Browns. Both teams got off to a great start to the season with three wins in 4 games each. Who will manage to get the fourth? There are several options to bet on.
The Chargers have benefited from the change
The California team has an incredible roster. And the Chargers have had a great set of players for several seasons. But, as they say, there have been coaching problems. Now LA is led by Brandon Staley, a young specialist who moved to the Chargers from the defensive coordinator position for the Los Angeles Rams and has never been in charge before. Experienced attack coordinator Joe Lombardi and defensive specialist Renaldo Hill joined Staley.
The change benefited the team. At least in the first few weeks, it’s looking really good. The Chargers lost only to Dallas, missing a crucial field goal in the final seconds, and have beaten Washington and powerful opponents like the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.
The Chargers don’t concede much - just 18.5 points per game. And offensively, quarterback Justin Herbert, the 6th pick of the 2020 draft, is perfect. In 4 games, he has 1,178 yards passing, nine touchdowns, and just three interceptions.
Cleveland were like the Chargers last season
Ahead of the previous championship, the Browns, who hadn’t made the playoffs since 2002, changed coaching staff again. A young Joe Stefanski, inexperienced as Staley, became head coach. Alex Van Pelt became offensive coordinator. John Woods became defensive coordinator. And Cleveland made it to the postseason! And they even won 1 game against Pittsburgh.
The success in the last championship must have inspired the team. In the new one, the Browns will do everything to develop it. The start is good - 3-1 after wins over Houston, Chicago, and Minnesota, and the Kansas City Chiefs lose. Defensively, Cleveland is 4th in league with 16.8 average points allowed per game. Offensively, things aren’t working out so far. The 1st pick of the 2018 draft, Quarterback Baker Mayfield, has only two touchdowns to 2 interceptions in 4 starts.
Expert Betting Tips
It’s hard to predict who will win the upcoming game. The rivals have had a great start to the season and are worthy of each other. That’s why we won’t touch on the outcome and will base our predictions on performance. Both teams are great in defence and concede very little. In addition, the Chargers have an inexperienced quarterback, and Cleveland’s quarterback is out of shape with only two passing touchdowns in 4 games. In short, we will not see a lot of action in this game.
