Dallas vs New York Giants: The teams’ level is not comparable at the moment

One of the NFL’s best teams to start the season, the Dallas Cowboys, will take on division rival NFC East in Week 5. The teams’ level is not comparable at the moment, but the right attitude sometimes works wonders. Will the Giants manage to create a sensation, or will the Cowboys take the lead? There are several betting options at once.

Dallas are off to a great start in the league

So far in the 2021 NFL Championship, things are looking up for the Dallas Cowboys. Quarterback Dak Prescott, who has recovered from injury, and second season head coach Mike McCarthy lost the season’s first game to Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers 29-31. But then they went on to win three straight. First, Dallas were stronger than the potent new season LA Chargers 20-17. After that, Dallas defeated Philadelphia 41-21 and Carolina 36-28 at home, giving the Panthers their first loss of the season.

At the end of four weeks, Dallas have the 4th best offense in the league. These are the fruits of the work of 2010 Super Bowl winner Mike McCarthy and Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. There has also been some success on defense, which former Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn has led since this season. The current 16th ranked defense is average in every sense, but at least it’s much better than last year’s 28th. Why shouldn’t the Texans’ defence continue to progress?

The Giants are going nowhere

While Dallas had some coaching reshuffles in the offseason, the Giants’ roster’s key players remained the same. Head coach Joe Judge, offensive coordinator and former Dallas coach Jason Garrett, and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham have been working together since last season. Last season, the Giants, though only six wins, nearly made the playoffs. But they missed out on a last-minute lead over Washington.

Clearly, with Dallas so strong, there’s no chance for New York to even contend for the postseason with six wins. And there’s no sign of more wins yet. The Giants are 1-3 to start the season and didn’t have their first success until Week 4, when they managed to crush the struggling rebuilding New Orleans in overtime. New York did not lose to many stronger opponents - Denver, Washington, and Atlanta.

As for defense, the Giants are in 15th place in the league at the end of four weeks. At the end of last season, they were in 9th place. Their offense has improved a bit, finishing 21st from last season’s penultimate 31st. But there are still no real prospects for further development. Quarterback Daniel Jones, though he has thrown for 1,184 yards per pass in four games, has thrown for just four touchdowns. There is no confidence in Jason Garrett either. In his ten years with the great Dak Prescott in Dallas and previously with Tony Romo, Garrett only won 2 playoff games. Judging by his second season with the Giants, Garrett’s offensive coordinator is no better than the head coach.

Right now, the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants are, by all accounts, completely different teams. So no amount of attitude will help the New Yorkers in the upcoming game. If Dak Prescott and company score 38 points against Carolina, their 4th defense of the current season, it’s scary to see what they can do against the Giants.
