Firstly, we have Roma taking on AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico in the third round of the Serie A. I Giallorossi have yet to record a win in their opening two matches, suffering a defeat and a draw. Will they be able to secure all three points at home against a side brimming with confidence?

Secondly, Luton Town will lock horns with West Ham United at Kenilworth Road in their first match at home in the 2023–24 Premier League. Will the unwavering support of their fans be enough to see them avoid their first defeat at home?

And lastly, Nantes face off with Marseille at the Stade de la Beaujoire (Louis Fonteneau). La Maison Jaune are mired in the relegation play-offs with one point to their name and have yet to win any of their opening three matches. José Mourinho's side have had a less than stellar start to the season as they have failed to win their two opening matches. In their season opener, they were denied their maiden home victory as they played out a nail-biting 2-2 draw against Salernitana, and this was followed by a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Verona away from home on the second match day.

I Giallorossi were in fine form at home, the Stadio Olimpico, as they achieved 11 wins from their last 19 matches in the previous season. However, their home form against AC Milan has been cause for concern in past meetings, as they have managed only two wins from their last nine matches while recording three losses and four draws. Their most recent meeting concluded in a 1-1 draw in the previous season, and they'll be eager to improve upon that outcome to secure their first win at home and in the 2023–24 Serie A season.

AC Milan started the 2023–24 Serie A season on a good note as they saw off the threat of Bologna, winning 2-0 away from home. This was later followed by a commanding 4-1 triumph against Torino at home to make it back-to-back wins. They are currently in the driving seat of the pinnacle, where they boast six points to their name, level with defending champions Napoli, Inter Milan, and Verona.

With a surge of momentum circulating in their camp, they'll be eager to extend their winning streak in the league to three matches against a side they have yet to lose to in their last three matches, picking up two wins and a draw.

In their past ten meetings, goals have been seen at both ends of the pitch in nine of those matches, and such a trend is to be expected in this clash as neither side is expected to keep a clean sheet.

Luton Town, who got promotion to the top tier for the first time since the 1991–92 season, have not had a fairytale start to the season as their campaign as a whole has immediate relegation to the second tier when the 2023–24 season comes to a conclusion marked all over it. The Hatters have failed to win any of their first two opening matches; their debut was a bittersweet 4-1 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion, and this was followed by a sound 3-0 defeat against Chelsea away from home.

Despite those setbacks, they found solace in the EFL Cup, where they comfortably defeated Gillingham 3-2 in the second round in their first competitive match at Kenilworth Road. This win saw them book a date with EFL League One side Exeter City in the third round.

West Ham United, on the other hand, also didn't get off to the right footing in their season opener, though it was still a favorable outcome at the end as they played out a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on the road, which was followed by a stunning 3-1 victory over Chelsea at home despite being at a numerical disadvantage for almost twenty-three minutes. Their most recent match against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road saw them secure a 3-1 triumph, extending their winning streak to two matches.

This has seen them occupy 2nd place with 7 points to their name, and their aspirations for a placing in the zenith currently occupied by defending champions Manchester City is hindered by a two-point deficit, while they are a distant star ahead of their opponents in this impending clash by seven points.

The Hammers are undeniably brimming with confidence as they come into this match. They are favorites with bookmakers to secure another three-pointer on the road; however, they won't have it easy against a side that will play their first home match in the Premier League after a £10m revamp. Despite that, we still anticipate David Moyes's side to secure a hard-fought win when all is said and done, and having recently acquired the services of Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez, both coming in from Ajax Amsterdam, proves that they'll be a difficult side to beat.

Not everything has gone according to plan for Pierre Aristouy's Nantes in the new 2023–24 Ligue 1 season, as they have failed to win any of their first three matches. Their maiden home victory was put on hold as they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against Toulouse in the season opener, and this was later followed by a convincing 2-0 defeat at the hands of ten-man LOSC Lille on the road, making it their second consecutive defeat in the league.

Their most recent match against Monaco was a shot at redemption to secure their first win in the league and at home, but they were met with a disappointing outcome at the end as they were held to a 3-3 draw to share the spoils. This time around, they'll be hoping to get the job done by seeing off the threat of a tricky opponent.

Marseille, on the other hand, suffered a heartbreak on the European football stage as they failed to qualify for the Champions League this season after failing to defeat Greece's Panathinaikos in the second leg of the third qualifying round, losing 5-3 on penalties after playing out a 2-1 win in regular time to equalize the aggregate score at a 2-2 draw. And with this setback, they will have to find shelter in the Europa League.

In the 2023–24 Ligue 1 season, they have made a perfect start, where complaints with gaffer Marcelino are at a minimum as they have yet to suffer defeat in their first three matches, exceeding expectations. Their season opener saw them defeat Reims 2-1 at home, which was later followed by a 2-2 draw against 10-man Metz on the road. Their recent match was a 2-0 win at home against Brest, marking their second consecutive win at the Stade Velodrome.

Les Phocéens have picked up five wins in their last six matches against Nantes, highlighting their unwavering dominance they have maintained over them, and given their three-match unbeaten run in the league, there's no doubting that the three points are theirs for the taking, though victory won't come on a silver platter. Therefore, we anticipate both sides to get on the scoreboard, as this has been the case in five of their last seven meetings and given that neither side's scoring has hit a plateau.
