26-12-2024
The English Premier League and its sister league, the Championship, continue action on boxing day, but my focus will be on Chelsea taking on Fulham in the West London derby at Stamford Bridge. In the Championship, I will analyse Sheffield United vs Burnley and Stoke vs Leeds encounters. Let’s check the analyses of the games and acca odds below. Happy holiday!

Chelsea have been performing well under Enzo Maresca, and they now deserve all the credit. They sit second on the table, and despite disputing their chance of winning the title, they are surely in the title race. The Blues were held goalless in their last game against Everton. They will still be without Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Benoit Badiashile, suffering from hamstring injuries. Mykhaylo Mudryk is suspended, but Marc Cucurella will be back after suspension.
On the other hand, for the first time since losing to Manchester United in round one, Fulham failed to score in their last game against struggling Southampton in a match that ended goalless. They will be without Harrison Reed (knee), Kenny Tete (knee), and Reiss Nelson (hamstring) due to injuries. However, despite both sides playing a goalless draw in their last games, I will still stick with the BTTS result because Fulham are very reliable when it comes to scoring. They are perhaps the most reliable team in the EPL this season.

Sheffield United vs Burnley
It is going to be the survival of the fittest at Bramall Lane when two of the strongest sides in the Championship go head to head. Sheffield United have won nine of their last 11 games and have won more games (15) than any other team in the league this season but have lost the last three games against Burnley.
Both sides take pride in their defenses. Sheffield United conceded 11 goals this season, which is the second-best defense in the league, while Burnley conceded nine goals this season, which is the best defense this season. Moreover, Sheffield United have kept five clean sheets in their last six games. So, with everything pointing at a defensive play from both ends of the field, it will be good to keep it safe and predict a decent match here. For me, goals would be scarce in this game.

Stoke vs Leeds
Leeds United have been performing exceptionally well this season, and it is beginning to look like they will return to the EPL soon. The Whites are second in the Championship with six wins from their last eight. Interestingly, they have won the first half in their last four wins. However, Stoke City are struggling, and I don’t think any miracle can stop them from suffering a defeat in this game. The Potters are 19th on the table, having gone eight games without a victory. They have only won just three of their 18 games under Pelach. No doubt, Leeds will dominate this clash from start to finish, and I have no regret backing them to victory.
