Derby returned to the Championship after Paul Warne guided the Rams to second place in League One, behind champions Portsmouth. The beginning of the season always brings a lot of uncertainty, especially when two evenly-matched teams like these meet. Therefore, our betting tip is that both teams will score.

In the first round in Portugal, Sporting will welcome Rio Ave, and the hosts are clear favorites to win this match. However, they should be ready to start the new season with a win in the domestic league. Rio Ave weren’t very confident in the pre-season as they won only 2 of 7 matches they played. In this stadium, they haven’t won since 2019 and it’s difficult to believe that they can take points in this match as well.

In the 1/32 finals of Coppa Italia, Genoa will welcome Reggiana. Genoa are favorites in this match, although these teams haven’t played a competitive match yet, and in the friendlies, they showed different faces. Genoa were in the middle of Serie A last season, while Reggiana was in the middle of Serie B, and this season according to bookmakers these teams will fight to avoid relegation, each team in his league. Interestingly last season these teams played in the 1/16 finals of Coppa Italia and Genoa won after extra time, as the match finished in a draw in the regular time. Genoa should use the home-field advantage and win against an objectively weaker team.
