Avoid at all cost. Prematurely settled US election market and will NOT pay out even if they are wrong in the end. I would call it a fraud.

Deceptive and misleading practices. Placed bets on Trump to be next president. Paid out on Biden early when there was no result. Many states have contested electors and Pence has made clear he is going to throw these out on Nov 3rd. There's no way this should have been called without an official result and I will be part of a class action lawsuit to seek a fair outcome. I will not use Betfair again or recommend due to their misleading, deceptive and unfair practices.

Deposited €50.00, bet on horse. I won. Betfair suspended my account. They kept all the money including my deposit. Do not waste your money on this site.

I opened an account, using a guaranteed refund on a £20 bet if you lose. I lost, they did not refund, I opened a paypal case to claim back my money they stole by not honouring their own deal. They then closed my account. I'm sure paypal will refund, but what a disgusting way to treat a new customer. Dreadful avoid them.

I have bet on the US 2020 election on Donald Trump as the winner... but on 14.12.2020, Betfair itself has announced Biden winning after "fake news" from the major media in the US... as it has not been announced by the US government yet. I think Betfair should wait until 20.01.2021, when there is a clear official statement on who the next president of the United States will be. If Betfair does not withdraw this decision, it will harm your business in the future

OK. First and foremost, you id*ots voting on the US election lost your bets - deal with it. So you can't criticise betfair for that. However, after using Betfair for about 5 months for my lay bets and depositing well over £1000 I was majorly let down yesterday. I layed the Saturday ACCA at £50 for a £3 or so profit off Sky (I've seen Betfair actively encourage matched betting before anyone gets on their high horse about it - no need to stick up for the bookies). The cash out value on Sky was double what I put on after about 15 mins into the games so I thought I'll cash out of everything now. For some reason Betfair didn't give me any sort of cash out/trade out option for this one, so I backed the ACCA for around the same amount I layed it, which should have cancelled out my lay bet and returned my stake. Apparently not. Even after everything was settled I was left with £14 out of £65. Although the profit on the back bet was supposed to be £116 - £70 or the lay £70 - £53. So I should've ended up with either £46 or £23. But I ended up with nothing. Leaving me £20 out of pocket in total. Betfair can't do simple calculations correctly. In future I will only use Smarkets, as they have a clear and simple trade out option and pay winnings instantly, not a week and a half later like Betfair.
