Everton notched the first win of the season after beating Birmingham City three-one in a clinical performance. The Everton women and Birmingham remained tied till the half at one-one but two strikes by Everton without conceding a goal sealed the win. Birmingham City has now lost all of its first three games.
Leonie Maier gave Everton the first lead when she nailed a goal from the right side of the box. At the thirty-three mark, Lucy Quinn assisted Jade Pennock to tie the game. In the second half, at the seventy-three-minute spot, Hanni Bennison got assisted by Toni Duggan to give Everton a lead. After sealing two-one advantage, Rikke Sevecke nailed a header off an assist by Izzy Christiansen in a corner situation.
Everton controlled the possession 66% of the time, had fourteen shots at goal with four on target compared to six shots and three on-target attempts by Birmingham. Everton secured 10 corners while Birmingham earned two of them.
