Adelaide Strikers notched an empathic win over Melbourne Renegades, trouncing them by eight wickets and with 15 balls to spare. Melbourne Renegades suffered more than a loss in the game as bowler Georgia Wareham hurt her shoulder while fielding.
Renegades struggled through the game and only Harmanpreet Kaur and Eve Jones could play a substantial knock. Kaur made 41 runs off 37 balls while Eve Jones did a superb job of holding an end and playing an unbeaten knock of 36 runs in 29 deliveries. For the Strikers, Sarah Coyte bowled superbly and notched three wickets for 20 runs. Meanwhile, Amanda, Darcie, and Jemma got a wicket each.
Strikers began with a bang and Dane van Niekerk nailed seven fours in her quickfire 29 runs knock off just 14 deliveries. She fell to Falconer and then Katie Mack fell at the score of 47. However, Tahlia McGrath and Laura Woolvardt took advantage of the quick start and formed an unbeaten 82 runs partnership to seal the deal.
McGrath nailed a fifty while Laura chipped in with 36 runs. Wareham turned out to be the most economical bowler for the Renegades, spending just 14 runs in her three overs but hurt her shoulder and had to go off-the-field.
