Alyssa Healy added another sensational knock in her long list as the Sydney Sixers blew out a strong Perth Scorchers side by 44 runs. Batting first, Sydney scored 161 runs and even the top-heavy lineup of Scorchers folded under pressure.
Alyssa lets it fly
Ellyse Perry once again opened for the Sixers instead of Shefali and Healy made her job easy. Perry just rotated the strike and Alyssa banged fours after four. Perry fell at the score of 101 but the damage had already been done. The bowling bounced back a little after the initial mayhem and claimed a couple of more wickets. However, the trigger-happy Healy made 94 runs in 57 balls, striking 12 fours and 2 sixes.
Despite the mayhem, veteran bowler Marizzane Kapp kept it tight with figures of 18 runs in four overs while Alana King gave just 27 runs in her four overs. Lisa Griffith took a heavy toll, squandering 28 runs in two overs. Taneale Peschel took two wickets for 34 runs in her four.
Scorchers fall apart
After losing Sophie Devine early, veteran batter Beth Mooney and Chloe Piparo formed a 48 runs stand. However, once Piparo got bowled by Nicole Bolton, others simply followed. The team could not salvage much apart from a 30 runs innings by Beth Mooney and 29 by Piparo. All bowlers bowled well with Nicole Bolton picking up three and Lauren Cheatle returned the most economical figures of 13 runs for two wickets in her four.
