Sergey Torosyan, head coach of UFC top lightweight Arman Tsarukyan, shared his impressions of his ward's performance at UFC Vegas 49 in an exclusive interview with MMA.Metaratings.ru.

Arman fully fulfilled the instructions for this fight. He started the fight very well in the standing position. He was not at a loss in the moment after the low-kick and immediately took his back. After that, everything went into the guard. At the bottom it was the ground and pound, and it was also excellently done. Everything that we practiced including elbow hits, we did to the best advantage. We were ready for the whole distance, because we knew that the guy was strong, big for this weight. And given that Alvarez usually doesn't fit into that weight class, we knew we have to face a fighter who is very physically strong. But in general, he did not cope with Arman's control and got tired very quickly. Arman did his job and did it perfect.
Arman Tsarukyan defeated Yoel Alvarez by TKO in the second round.
Tsarukyan, 25, defeated Christos Giagos by TKO in the first round at UFC Fight Night 192 in September 2021. In January of the same year, at UFC 257, he defeated Matt Frevola by unanimous decision. Tsarukyan has 18 wins and 2 losses.
