Tokyo Paralympics to take place in absence of spectators

After holding the Olympics with no spectators Tokyo Paralympics will also be bereft of the visitors. The decision comes in the wake of rising cases of coronavirus in the capital city of Japan. There have been widespread protests against both Olympics and Paralympics considering the high rate of cases and economic issues as well.

The Paralympics are set to begin on 24 August this year and the closing ceremony is slated at 5 September. The Olympics and Paralympics are held in tandem plus they are already behind the schedule as both the competitions got postponed last year. Still logos and the attribution of the Olympics is going to use the “2020 Tokyo Paralympics” as the headline as seen in the case of the “2020 Tokyo Olympics” despite the event getting postponed to 2021.
