Zverev Reacts on Loss to Sinner in Australian Open 2025 Final

German tennis player Alexander Zverev, currently ranked second in the world, commented on his defeat to world number one Jannik Sinner in the final of the Australian Open 2025.

Zverev said during the awards ceremony:

Alexander Zverev
It sucks standing here next to this thing [Australian Open trophy] and not being able to touch it, to be honest. But congratulations to Jannik, you deserve it. You are the best player in the world by far.

Today, the 27-year-old German athlete lost to Sinner in three sets, finishing with scores of 3-6, 6-7, 3-6 in the final of the Australian Open 2025.

Zverev is an Olympic champion in singles and a two-time ATP Finals winner, yet he has never captured a Grand Slam title throughout his career.
