
German tennis player Alexander Zverev expressed his suspicions about the three-month disqualification of Italian player Jannik Sinner for violating anti-doping regulations.

It’s a weird situation because first he is cleared, then WADA wanted to have a second look at it. To me, I think, you know, there’s two options. Either you’re at no fault and you should get no suspension at all. Because if you have no fault, then you have no fault. You shouldn’t get punished. But if you do have fault, then I think for taking steroids, three months is not a suspension.
In August 2024, it was discovered that Sinner tested positive for the anabolic steroid clostebol twice but argued that the substance entered his system after a massage given by a physiotherapist without gloves.
