Czech tennis player Karolina Muchova withdrew from the WTA World Tour Finals because she was unable to recover in time for the start of the event.
The Czech tennis player wrote on social media:
Together with the team and doctors we tried everything till the last moments to resolve my wrist injury. Unfortunately, the time needed for the recovery is longer than we would’ve hoped for and therefore I had to make this unpleasant decision.
The athlete is ranked eighth in the WTA rankings.
The final WTA tournament will be held from October 29 to November 5 in Cancun, Mexico.
In September 2023, Muchova reached the US Open semifinals for the first time in her career, defeating Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea.
