The world's top-ranked tennis player, 23-year-old Italian Jannik Sinner, has withdrawn from the hard court Masters tournament in Paris. He was set to face the winner of the match between Ben Shelton and Corentin Moutet in the second round.

Sinner's spot in the tournament will be filled by Arthur Cazaux.

Prior to this, Novak Djokovic, the fourth-ranked player in the world and a 24-time Grand Slam champion, also withdrew from the tournament.

In a previous interview with Sky Sport, Sinner expressed his disappointment with his friends following his doping controversy and shared which tournaments he considers his priorities.
