Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, currently ranked number one in the world, has been cleared in an anti-doping violation case. This information was reported by Corriere della Sera, citing the CAS secretariat.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has opted not to appeal this decision, with the 21-day deadline for submitting an appeal already expired.
On August 20, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) released a statement indicating that Sinner had tested positive in two doping tests back in March. However, he was not disqualified according to ITIA’s ruling.
Sinner went on to win the 2024 US Open, defeating American player Taylor Fritz in the final in three sets, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.
This victory marks the second Grand Slam title for the Italian.
