Three Top-15 Tennis Players Withdraw from Mexico Tournament Due to Food Poisoning

Due to food poisoning, three players from the top 15 of the world rankings have been forced to withdraw from the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco, Mexico.

Norwegian Casper Ruud and American Tommy Paul were unable to compete in their second-round matches. Denmark's Holger Rune had to stop his match against American Brandon Nakashima in the first set while trailing 0-3.

Ruud and Rune later reported stomach issues on social media. According to ATP, Paul also withdrew from the tournament due to poisoning.

According to the media reports, the defeat of Alexander Zverev (currently ranked second in the world) to Learner Tien (ranked 82) may also have to do with similar health issues.
