Swiatek Comments on Possible WADA Appeal Regarding Doping Violation

Polish tennis player and world number two Iga Swiatek has commented on the potential appeal by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) concerning her doping violation case.

Iga Swiatek
I don’t see any reason for that. I was suspended for a long time and I lost [world] number one because of that. I also know how the procedure worked and I gave every possible evidence. There is not much, honestly, to do more. So I'm not expecting an appeal, but I have no influence on what's going to happen.

Recently, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced that a banned substance was found in Iga Swiatek's blood in August, which she had been taking for sleep issues.

It is worth noting that the Polish athlete missed three tournaments over her one-month suspension,.

Earlier, Wim Fissette, Iga Swiatek's coach, expressed confidence in her innocence regarding the doping allegations.
