Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic refused to name the best tennis player in the world and said he doesn't get much recognition because of his background.
When asked if he should be recognized not only as the greatest tennis player, but also as one of the best athletes in the world, Djokovic said:
I’lI leave that up to you and everyone else, whether or not I deserve to be part of that discussion... but one thing is a fact, though – if I wasn’t from Serbia, I’d have been glorified on a sporting level many years ago, especially in the West.
Last week, Djokovic won a Grand Slam tournament for the 24th time in his career, defeating Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final of the U.S. Open.
