Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal announced at a special press conference that he will miss Roland Garros in 2023.
The French Open tennis championship will be held without the 36-year-old Spaniard for the first time since 2004.
Rafael Nadal
Recovering from the injury I suffered in Australia has not turned out the way I expected. For the first time in many years, I won't be able to play at Roland Garros. It's difficult, considering what this event means to me.
Nadal, who has a lower back muscle problem, holds the record for most wins at Roland Garros with 14 titles.
The tournament runs from May 22 to June 11.
