Medvedev Withdraws from Doha Tournament

Daniil Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, currently ranked sixth in the world, has withdrawn from the ATP 500 tournament in Doha during his quarterfinal match against Canada's Felix Auger Aliassime, who is ranked 23rd globally.

The first set lasted 31 minutes and ended with Auger Aliassime winning 6-3. Following this, Medvedev announced his decision to stop his participation in the match due to health issues.

Felix Auger Aliassime will face Russian player Andrey Rublev in the tournament final. Rublev, the 2020 Olympic mixed doubles champion, is currently ranked 10th in the world. Their total score after previous encounters is 1:5 in favor of Rublev.

Earlier, Medvedev celebrated his 300th career victory on hard courts.
