Daniil Medvedev, the tenth-ranked tennis player in the world, shared his thoughts in an interview with the Championat media outlet on the offer of Serbian athlete Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion. Earlier Djokovic stated that he might be willing to become Medvedev's coach.
I don’t think I’m the only one he’s ready to help. I heard in Australia that Alexander Zverev mentioned Novak promised to work with him for a year after his career ends to be his coach (laughs). I don’t think he's actually ready to be a coach; it’s more like he’s ready to give advice and share his experience with friends. So, if there is an opportunity, I would be happy to take it. If he retires, we’ll discuss it.
Recently, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic said that he could be part of Daniil Medvedev's team.
Yesterday, Daniil Medvedev won against Argentine player Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the third round of the Masters tournament taking place in Madrid, Spain.
The match ended with Medvedev winning 6-2, 6-2. In the next round, Daniil Medvedev will face American Brandon Nakashima.
The Madrid tournament runs from April 23 to May 4. The current title holder is Russian Andrey Rublev, who was unable to defend his title this year after losing in the third round to Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.
