Russia's second-ranked player and world number three Daniil Medvedev has received a large monetary fine for unsportsmanlike and indecent behavior in the semifinals of the Australian Open-2024.
The document announcing total fines at the current Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne shows that the penalty amounted to $12,000. A fine of $ 8,000 was imposed for "indecency", and another $ 4,000 for unsportsmanlike behavior.
During the course of his match against world number seven Stefanos Tsitsipas, Medvedev yelled at the umpire after being dissatisfied with the cues his opponent got from his father.
