Olympic champion and winner of two Grand Slam tournaments Yevgeny Kafelnikov responded to Russian number one Daria Kasatkina's remarks about tennis being the worst sport in the world in terms of logistics.
Championat quotes Kafelnikov as saying:
Is Kasatkina being forced to play tennis? If Daria is not ready for that, then she should end her career. It's that simple. Who has it easy now? Nobody is forcing Daria to play, after all. After all, she gets very big prize money for that. If there is something else she can do for a living - leave her to it.
Yevgeny Kafelnikov, 49, has been at the top of the ATP rankings for six weeks. Daria Kasatkina, 26, is currently ranked at No. 11 in the WTA rankings and is the No. 1 ranked player in Russia. In her last match on October 14, she lost to Czech Barbora Krejčíková in two sets in the semifinals of the tournament in China - 3:6, 0:6.
Earlier, Kasatkina explained why she thinks tennis is the worst sport in the world.
