The court of Barcelona sentenced former tennis player and ex-first racket of the world Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario to two years in prison for concealment of assets, according to the website of the Supreme Court of Catalonia.
It is noted that she can avoid a prison term in case of paying more than €6.6 million in compensation to the Bank of Luxembourg.
The Spanish tennis player was the world's number one in singles and doubles. During her career, Vicario has won 14 Grand Slam tournaments and is also a five-time Fed Cup winner with the Spanish national team.
