Roger Federer, a 20-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, spoke about his wife, Mirka Vavrinec, and her unwavering support throughout his career.
Federer said, as quoted by Tennis World USA:
I’ve never felt lonely on the tour. We’ve hardly had any days apart in the last six years. She helped me for so long—she was with me when I hadn’t won a title yet—but now I want her to retreat a bit and just enjoy it more.
Federer retired from professional tennis in September 2022 after competing in the 2022 Laver Cup in London. He played his farewell match in doubles alongside Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal, who is a 22-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one.
