The world number one Novak Djokovic has acknowledged the progress of Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, naming him the best player of 2024 so far. In the current season, the Italian won the Australian Open and the Miami Masters, defeating Daniil Medvedev in both tournaments.

Jannik is the best player in the world this year so far. He has had tremendous success. He has improved a lot. Overall, his game, his serve, his movement, and mentally he is always there. He learned from his mistakes and he is very present in important moments
Earlier, the Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation Aleksey Selivanenko after the Miami Masters semifinal, stated that Sinner's superiority over Daniil Medvedev was evident in everything.
