With the important tournament of Women’s World Cup Qualifiers at the helm, Sri Lanka announced the squad. The team hasn’t played since the February-March window last year when the squad competed in the Women’s T20 World Cup. This is why the team has stuck with experience, but despite that, sixteen-year-old Vismi Gunaratne found a space in the 17 player squad. Nineteen-year-old batter Imesha Dulani and 19-year-old right arm wrist-spinner Sachini Nishala also carved out a space in the squad.
Sri Lanka squad: Udeshika Prabodhani, Achini Kulasuriya, Anushka Sanjeewani, Kavisha Dilhari, Imesha Dulani, Vishmi Gunaratne, Sachini Nisansala, Tharika Sewwandi, Chamari Atapattu (captain) Harshitha Madavi (vice-captain), Inoka Ranaweera, Nilakshi de Silva, Hasini Perera, Sugandika Kumari, Oshadi Ranasinghe, Ama Kanchana, Prasadani Weerakkody,
