Netherland’s Sifan Hassan finished first in the 5000m event during the Prefontaine Classic as she finished with a time of 14 minutes 27.89 seconds edging Ethiopia’s Senbere Teferi who completed the race at 14 minutes 42.25 seconds. Fantu Worku from Ethiopia finished in third place with a time of 14 minutes 42.85 seconds.
Hassan won a gold medal during the Tokyo Olympics in both the 5000m and 10000m event. Sifan Hassan missed out on the world record set by Letensebet Gidey who holds it at 14 minutes 06.62 seconds.
