England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been named in the Ashes squad after a four-months long break from cricket. Stokes went on a sabbatical for his mental well-being and also had an injured finger. Now, the finger is healed and the top-notch all-rounder is all set to make his return to the cricketing scene.
Few days ago, Australian spinner Nathan Lyon said that he wanted Stokes back to “play against the best players of England” and he also felt that Ben would eventually make his return. During the last Ashes, Ben Stokes played a memorable innings at Edgbaston when he made an unbeaten 135 and carried England to a one-wicket win against the highly-rated Australian bowling attack. The Ashes 2021 will begin on 8th December.
Ben Stokes, All-Rounder, England
I had a break to prioritise my mental wellbeing and I got my finger sorted. I am looking forward to seeing my mates and being on the field with them. I'm ready for Australia.
