Denis Lavrentiev a Russian fighter of the lightest weight, friend and teammate of Petr Yan commented on the desire to break into the UFC and on which stage of negotiations with the organization they are.
Denis Lavrentiev
Negotiations with the UFC are going on for quite a long time. There are no definite specifics, but there's always a chance to sign in. When Petr was fighting for the belt with Alda, I was on base at Fight Island. I had passed all the tests and I was ready to replace the two fighters who got knocked down at flyweight. They called me, told me to make weight and be ready to fight, but both opponents refused to fight me. It's hard to plan and predict anything, but we're not idle, we're making fights and moving forward. I hope that in the near future, our plans will come true and we will enter the best organization in the world.
The next fight is scheduled for November 6 in Abu-Dhabi against Jesse Arnett from Canada for the lflyweight title of Parus FC. The fight will be the main event of the night, headlined by MMA veterans Sergey Kharitonov and Fabio Maldonado.
