Kenyan athlete Kipyegon Bett, aged 26, has sadly passed away. This news was reported by Nation, citing the world junior champion's sister.
The athlete died on Sunday in a hospital in Bomet County, Kenya, where he had been admitted on September 30. Reports indicate that Bett was vomiting blood due to liver failure and other internal organ issues.
Bett was a 2016 world junior champion and a bronze medalist at the 2017 World Championships in the 800 meters. However, in 2018, he received a four-year ban for using erythropoietin.
