A representative from the World Health Organization (WHO), Maria van Kerkhove, announced that more than 40 athletes have tested positive for COVID-19 at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

In recent months, regardless of the season, there have been spikes in COVID-19 cases in many countries, including at the Olympic Games, where at least 40 athletes have received positive test results.
Currently, the United States leads the medal count with 21 gold, 30 silver, and 28 bronze medals. China follows closely in second place with 21 gold, 18 silver, and 14 bronze medals, while France holds the third position with 13 gold, 16 silver, and 19 bronze medals.
