I liked that they added new carry heroes and weakened Naga Siren. It's convenient that you can teleport to creep camps or allies can fly over and help. I've played a bit of matchmaking, so far Spectre and Gyrocopter stand out. Spectre can become an actively played hero, and Gyrocopter is stronger with an upgraded third skill.
Patch 7.34 was released on the night of August 8-9. Dota 2 developers redesigned characters that weren't popular in the latest update, as well as changed items, including neutral items. An important part of update 7.34 was the change of the order of picking and banning heroes in Captain's Mode, where all Dota 2 championships are played. You can read about the new draft system here.
