The VG portal reported that Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen, who was the sixteenth World Champion from 2013 to 2023, will marry his partner Ella Victoria Malone this coming weekend. The date and location of the wedding remain unknown.
It is noted that the future wife of the 34-year-old chess player prefers to keep her life private from the press. However, Malone helped Carlsen secure a partnership with a clothing company after a scandal regarding his attire during the 2024 Rapid World Championship.
On December 28, the grandmaster was fined $200 and disqualified in the ninth round of a rapid chess tournament in New York for refusing to change out of his jeans. Earlier, Carlsen shared the title with Russian player Ian Nepomniachtchi in the eighth round of the Blitz World Championship, marking a first in the tournament's history.
