Due to a breach of anti-doping regulations, David Prince, holder of a bronze medal in athletics at the Paralympics, has received a 7-year disqualification from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), according to the organization's press service.
The disqualification follows a positive doping test that was taken during the qualifier for the US Paralympic team in July of last year. The analysis revealed the presence of ostarine, a banned substance, in Prince's sample.
Prince's seven-year period of ineligibility began on July 26, 2024, the date his provisional suspension was imposed. In addition, Prince has been disqualified from any competitive results obtained on and subsequent to July 19, 2024, the date his positive sample was collected, including forfeiture of any medals, points, and prizes. This is Prince’s second anti-doping rule violation within a 10-year period.
The 41-year-old Prince competes in the 200 and 400 meters (T44 category). His achievements include a bronze medal at the 2012 Paralympic Games and the title of world champion in the 400 meters in 2013.
